Purchasing a new home is an exciting time. When buying a “new to you” home much time is spent turning that home into a reflection of your personality and what you love. New furniture is purchased and old furniture is left behind because it doesn’t fit anymore.

This beautiful lakefront home was purchased and changes were made to personalize it. Being a waterfront property was license to turn it into a seaside home complete with washed linens, pale blue hues, creams and greys. The understated colour palette exuded relaxed, yet luxurious comfort. Throughout the home Hunter Douglas shutters were added to create a cottage vibe. In recent years, the trend with shutters is to go with a hidden tilt bar to keep the lines clean and uncluttered. In the master suite, motorized drapery were made in a basketweave washed linen. The pale blue hue framed the beautiful view of the lake. Hunter Douglas textured blackout roller shades were added for room darkening, while the drapery were lined with cotton to keep the breezy feel of the fabric. The drapery and blinds were both motorized and integrated into a home automation system for simplicity of operation. The trend to go motorized in window coverings is gaining momentum with each year. The possibilities for operating a home electronically are endless and very appealing for everyone but are especially appreciated by the tech savvy “man of the house”.
